Born in Nottingham, England, Liz Shepherd gained a degree in Painting from the prestigious Camberwell School of Art in London in 1975. Her watercolors and oils were exhibited in many London galleries including the Fischer Gallery before moving to California in 1979.
In the 1980s and 90s, many of Ms Shepherd's paintings were successfully published and sold internationally as fine art posters.
Since 2000, she has immersed herself in a rigorous training in Japanese Calligraphy and Sumi-e Brush Painting, principally with Professor Shozo Sato. She has won several national painting awards, including Best in Show of the National Exhibition of the Sumi-e Society of America. Very recently, a website, lizshepherdartworks.com was launched for online sales of limited edition fine art giclee prints of many of her watercolor, Sumi-e ink and oil paintings.
Ms Shepherd lives with her husband and Boxer dog in southern Oregon where the air, mountains and water continue to inspire her work.
